Wednesday Senses

I just started following the lovely Katie over at Standpipe & Sprinkles and found this great idea for a post.  It gives a quick glimpse into a blogger's life, so here goes...

Making: Although I haven't started up again just yet, I hope to get back into t-shirt quilt making.

Seeing: Fall is rapidly approaching and that little nugget of truth makes me SO excited.  I've seen a few red, orange, & yellow leaves around, along with the crisp, cool air.  I just adore this time of year.

Smelling: The mixed berry scent of James' meds.  Poor guy is battling the flu bug (not of the stomach variety, thank goodness!)

Tasting: The leftover Cheerios from James' breakfast this AM, although I'd really love a Chai Tea Latte from the Bucks right about now...

Hearing: Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer on Pandora Radio.  I know, I know...it's only September.  If you know anything about me, you know that that doesn't matter.  I can be in the mood for Christmas music...Anytime. Anywhere.

Feeling: TIRED.  Although I love the snuggle fest James and I have been having the past few days due to his sickness, it means I can't get much done around here...

Loving: The fact that I get to wear jeans and sweatshirts again...hooray!

Reading: I mentioned this already a few days ago, but I've been sloooooowly soaking in The Mission Of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson.  I truly felt like she wrote this book just for me.

Praying: For our house in Kansas to S-E-L-L.  Everyday I start my prayer by saying, "God, I know you have a wonderful plan laid out for us, but..."  We would love any and all of the prayers we can get!

If you'd like to participate, I'd love to read.  Just leave a link to your own Senses post in the comments section.  Now go on and enjoy your day! Pin It Now!

  1. You are so sweet, and I love it!

I'm going to link up your post at the bottom of my Senses post. :)

I hope James feels better soon!

I'll have to add The Mission of Motherhood to my reading list -- I haven't heard of that one!

And yes, I listen to Christmas music year-round. Especially if we're having a particularly chilly or gloomy day in, you know, September. ;)

Such a small world ... My parents are probably going to be selling their home in Kansas, as my dad moves on to take a call from a church in Iowa! Fingers crossed for you!

    1. Katie- thanks for linking my post! It was a fun one to do, so thanks for suggesting that. :)

You should definitely read The Mission Of Motherhood...so wonderful.

Yay that you're another friend who enjoys Christmas music year-round! It just makes my heart happy listening to those songs...

That is so crazy about your parents. My husband, James and I are back in Iowa (we're originally from here) after a 4 year stint in Kansas. Such a small world! I will pray for a quick house sell for your parents.

  2. What a great idea for a post! I loved reading about you...I think that is awesome you are already listening to Christmas music. I am guilty of the same thing---I {heart} Christmas and all the Christmas songs just put me in a happy mood.

Praying that you guys can sell your home in Kansas sooner than later! I'm sure God has a very special (and beautiful) plan waiting for you and your family.
