lull.

so, I've officially welcomed my first blogger lull,
and I think I'm ok with it(!...?)

I've spent the last several days virtually computer free,
and it has been wonderful and much needed.

lately, i've found myself reading the incredible blogs that I read on a regular basis, and comparing myself to those writers.

My thoughts go a little something like this...

"Kristin, you're not stylish enough to be blogging."

"Kristin, what you have to say isn't nearly as great
as what other bloggers have to say."

"Kristin, your photo skills are so elementary
compared to some of these incredible bloggers."

"Kristin, you're...not...good...enough...to be a part of this blogging world."

I realized today,
I've become all too consumed with what others in the blogosphere think of me.

sometimes it feels like a giant popularity contest,
and I'll never be a part of the cool club.

so, with that said,
I plan on taking the next several days
to continue enjoying time with family.
I also plan on taking some time,
refocusing on what's important,
and really thinking about this blog
and which direction I'd like to take it.

I'm so thankful for my loyal readers (thanks mom and Marsha!)
but also the community of bloggers I've met thus far.
I've formed some wonderful friendships because of this little space I have on the world wide web.

I'll be back on January 1st...starting 2013 off with a bang!

  1. I know just what you mean, my friend -- and I think you are so wise to take some time away from the computer!

Can't wait to see what you have in store for 2013!

  2. Your little boy is so cute! I know just what you mean. I have ended up taking a really long blog break, and it's been so nice. Blogging can make me compare myself to others so much and it's really not healthy! It has been so nice to just live life, instead of worrying about turning everything into a blog post and then worrying about what people think of me. I want to be more content with what I have and who I am... Taking a break from blogging has helped with that. Glad you've enjoyed your little break :)

    1. aww, thank you so much, Kiri!

it's nice to know that i'm not the only one who feels this way...the break has been necessary and much needed! I also want to be more content with what I have and who I am, and the break has helped me with that.

thanks for your sweet words, also! :)

I adore hearing from you lovely readers! You brighten my day (that is, if you leave a nice comment). I will try my best to write back to each one of you, but regardless, your comments mean so much.
